Christmas Eve
Well it is that time of year again. It has just came to fast, I think father time just wanted to see how fast I could really work this year. Well not very fast as most of you can see. Friday I mailed my last Christmas card. Way to late if you ask me, but they are out.
We had our Christmas Eve service at 5:00. Very nice service not as much people as we usually do. The Church is usually filled. After the service I took mom for a spin around town to look at the lights. This was the first night she has been out so I thought she would enjoy it.
Eric is watching Christmas Story and the Broncos. Guess what the Broncos are loosing. Eric said is the season over with yet? I guess not soon enough for him this year.
Any who after we got home I took some Christmas pictures of my family and my mom. I hope you enjoy them.
I also too some of the tree with my new camera that I got a few months ago. I am still learning how to work it and I think I have the settings all messed up so I need to read the book again to see if I can fix it. The tree ones were also taken with my camera and I think they turned out cool.
Merry Christmas everyone and a blessed new year!!

Let it Snow Let it Snow Again?
Yeah it is snowing again here in Iowa we have about 5 inches so far. It is 2:30 and it is starting to let up. I just had to take a picture of my let it snow sign. Eric's mom got it for me and I just love it!! And in the picture you can see how much snow we have gotten. I am chatting with Peanut (Stephanie) and she said WITT is all clean they have been keeping up with the snow there. But Travis (her boyfriend) he is snowed in and he can't get out. His college hasn't cleaned the roads or parking lots yet. So they can't see each other. Well now what is wrong my picture didn't down load? I guess I will try it again. Well it is now 2:55 and I think the snow is done for today, now we just gotta hope for clean roads. So I can go shoppen tomorrow. Yeah it down loaded the second time is a charm. That is after I had signed out and started all over

Ok he just had to show off
I called my brother at 9:00 this morning to tell him about my snow. Well he just had to show off his snow. When we got home from church he called and asked me to stop the snow dance. Joke is on him I haven't even begun yet to do the snow dance or not alone pray for it. Well any way he had gotten 6 more inches from the time I talked to him this morning to when he called after church. This is a picture of the snow up in Idaho. And every one is complaining on what we had gotten. I bet they would be glad that is not us. He said it is not to let up until Monday night. Show off!!!! Just joking little bro!!!!!
Need I say more

Busy Day
I have not had this busy of a day in a very long time. Yesterday Nov. 27th mom and I headed out for Omaha and got some things done there. Then we had lunch at Cracker Barrel, I haven't eaten there in about a year or more. I had my normal the chicken salad, only ate half though couldn't eat it all. I remember when I would eat until I was stuffed and couldn't stuff no more. After we ate I took mom to her eye doctors appointment. While she was doing that which normally takes a long time only took about an hour this time which figures cause I was running late on my shopping. Any way I went grocery shopping while she was there and things were going smooth I went to No Frills and got what I needed there and then went to Sam's. Just love that place. I finally found every thing I needed there then went to Wal Mart. Going smooth there until I tried to pick up a box of small candy canes, when I picked the box up they all fell all over the floor and my buggie, 100 pieces of candy canes every where. Some nice clerk helped me get them picked up and gave me a new box. I had to handle with kit gloves if you know what I mean. Well any way on my way to the check out stand. I go a pulling in and guess what the buggie hit where you put your groceries on and it broke the corner. I just wanted to dig a hole and berry my self. At this point I am thinking do you really want to go to Sioux City yet tonight? Well got the groceries in the car and it is 3:30 wow I am doing well it has only taken me an hour and a half to get my shoppen done. Hop in the car and off to pick up mom. Well I forgot the road construction between here Wal Mart and where my mom was. So yeah you got it I was in a traffic jam until almost 4:00 PM. Well I finally got to where mom was and found out that she was done at 2:30 and I drooped her off at 1:45 or so. So she had to play the waiting game. Sorry! So we go and get gas and while I am filling up I wanted to see how much more gas I need and opened the door and every thing from my wallet feel out onto the ground and the wind is blowing so here I am chasing my cards around the gas station. Buy this time it is 4:40 and I need to be in Sioux City by 6:30 or close to it. So we head down the road and stop in Missouri Valley for supper for mom and Eric. We pull into Mondamin at 5:12. Pass Eric as he is leaving work. By this time I have started to panic and think I am never going to get there. Get home change clothes and leave about 5:40 Off to Sioux City I go. You know I made it by 6:35. Called Stephanie and told her to meet me out side of her dorm. By know you are wondering what all the fuss is about. I am taking peanut to see Rent at the Orphaum. We get there in time park and found our seats. Now you would think this place knows how many seats they sell. Stephanie didn't get her a play bill which really made me made for the money I spent to go. But I told her that after the play that there would be some on the floor that people leave behind, well there was so she got one. That play was so LOUD I couldn't understand what they were singing or saying. I was kinda shocked on what they did. It was an okay play but I won't pay money to go and see it again. It is not for some young kids. After this was all over with we waited to go to the car well that was another excitement to my day, we couldn't find it but it was kinda cool when we went back into where we needed to get back on the elevator, which we had to stand for some time and now we know why. When the door opened out came some of the cast members. I didn't say and thing I figured Stephanie would of. But she didn't, when we got into the elevator a young man and a young girl were just busting out in the seams they got their autographs and we just a screaming. Then that is when it dawned on Stephanie who they were. I was funny to watch her face when she realized who they were. Kinda funny in a way but I wish I would of said some thing. Oh well was not meant to be. She will still have a story to tell. Well we finally found the car and laughed about all the silly things that had happened to us that night. Stoped at Burger king and got a couple of burgers and went up to her dorm room to find out who won Dancing of the Stars and eat our hamburgers. Helio won and Marie place third bummer. But she did awesome any way. Well I finally got home about 12:30AM this morning what a busy night!!! I had a great night with my daughter it was really fun. Some day I might be able to do that again but see a different one. Just one regret wish we would of take a picture of the two of us there.

Last Night Christmas for the mothers
Last night we made a trek to Sioux City to see Brule'. We have see them now for three years straight. Once in Omaha and the last two times in Sioux City. We enjoy it every year more and more. But it is a very long night, we didn't get home until midnight Saturday night, or early this morning. To late for this old foggie!! We had super at Chillies in Sioux City and then we went to the concert. Super was just so good. Mom, Stephanie and I all had Margarita grilled chicken with black beans and rice. mmmmm so good!!! Eric had steak and Eric's mom (Mom # 2) had chicken fried steak which I think that is what I am getting next time. It looked so good too. But alot of food though. Here is some pictures of us after the concert with the band members, and Hoops!!! I just love Hoops!!! He is so fun to watch. He dances with hoops and is very good at it. They are all such nice people they stay until the last fan is gone. they sign autographs and take picutres with who ever wants one. Just too cool. It makes feel like a young kid again going to concerts. The costums are just beautiful the colors and the work that goes into them is just unreal.
Thanksgiving
Okay now we are to Thanksgiving day. Oh my I have never seen so much food in one place in a very long time. We had Thanksgiving in our Churches fellowship hall. It has been a tradition in the McWilliams family to get together for a picnic in the summer and Thanksgiving. This would be Eric's side of the family that does this. His Grandma White (Edna) was a McWilliam. My mom even came this year which meant a lot to me. I am so happy that she came and ate with us. That is what I was so very thankful for that day. I just hate it when she sits at home on holiday's and doesn't go with us. I feel torn when she doesn't come. But here are a few pictures of our Thanksgiving day!!! Hope everyone had a blessed Thanksgiving.

For those who know me know that I love snow!!! It is just so pretty when if falls and when it is big fluffy flakes. Yeah I am a big flake too!! So here are some of the photos of that beautiful snow fall we had but didn't last long!!!

Yeah I know I am behind so now I am going to get you all up to date on what is going on in our lives, and we are starting out with this past Wednesday. It all began with a chat on MSN with my daughter Tuesday night. As I remember right it all started with hey mom I have a surprise for you. So I asked her what it was and she said that I had to wait till Wednesday. Do you really think I was going to leave this one alone and not bug her until she would tell me what it was. Nope you got that one right. I bugged her and I bugged her until I could not stay up any more Tuesday night. So now it is Wednesday and I still haven't a clue what the surprise was. In the middle of the night I remember her telling me that Travis was getting his hair cut so I just figured that is what it was. Noon came around and no Stephanie then it dawned on me that she still had classes until 12:20 so now it will be longer. You know I found out I hate surprises!!! Well Eric came home early and she still was not home but about fifteen minutes later in walks my daughter and to my surprise she had cut her hair. Yeah cut her hair. Betcha you thought that I was going to say that she had an engagement ring. I knew that was not it. I just love it after years of begging her to get it cut she finally did it. It is so cute!!!!! Here is a couple of pictures of her Thanksgiving that I took of her with her new dew!!! Love it, love it!!!

long time no see
Sorry I haven't kept up my blog very well. Eric went back to work this Monday and is doing better. Still gets a little sore in some spots yet, but other than that he is almost back to his good ol self. I have been very busy making cookies for the local bank in town for the 6, 7th of December. It will be for their open house. I have to make 14 doz. cookies. I am planning on making 14 different kinds so that means I have only made so far three different kinds. I had to stop today cause I have no eggs to continue. I am taking mom to the eye doctor in Council Bluff tomorrow so I will get some more then. Monday nights we have a bible study with our pastor and then Wednesday's the ladies of the church have an other one. The one on Monday's is very over whelming to me. We are doing it on Discipleship. And the one on Wednesday's is on a Joyce Myers study. That one is pretty good too. Stephanie is doing okay in school. She is struggling in a couple of her classes and with her room mates.
I just got done reading Anna's blogg and she is so blessed in all aspects of her life, she is one girl who knows who she is and what she wants out of her life. She is going on the right track. I hope some day I can feel that way too. With my family and the things I accomplished in my life and have the love and passion for God like she does.
I have not scrapbooked sense I went to Sioux City with my buddy Dee Dee. And I need to get some pages finished. I am making my Aunt Shirley and Uncle Don a scrapbook for their 50th wedding anniversary that will be coming up in a year or so.
Deb and Bill Nelsen will celebrating their 25th anniversary this weekend. We were invited to go to the dinner Friday night. I sure hope we can go. I think we will be late but we are sure going to try to go. Congrats guys!!! Many more to you!!!
I am coming to the conclusion that I need to make better time of my time God has given me. I need to stop saying things need to get done and just do them instead of sitting around complaining. I have found my self doing alot of that lately. I don't feel like doing any thing but I guess it is up to me to get things done!!
Hey guess what Marie is still in dancing with the stars. I am so happy for her she really need this boost right now. She lost her dad a week ago and I know how hard that can be. My prayers are with the family.
tootles for now!!!

shingles!
No we are not talking about the shingles on the roof, yeah you got it, we are talking about the shingles that humans get. Guess who has them? No not me and no not my mom she has had them though. That leaves Eric. Thursday night he came home and asked me if there was some thing on his side and back but I couldn't see any thing as of yet. And I asked him why, and he said it just itches so bad. I asked him if he gotten some chemicals on himself but he said he didn't think so. I thought it might be from the laundry soap or something like that. Never gave it another thought. Yesterday while I was at coffee he had called the house twice and asked if I was at home. So when I got home I called him at work and he told me he need to see a doctor. I thought he had hurt himself worse. See he has a hernia and I thought he really aggravated that to where he was in some really bad pain. So he called and made an appointment and we went to find out what was going on. And come to find out it was the shingles. I just can't believe it. The doc gave him some meds for about a week so I really hope it works. I have seen people suffer with this for months into years. I am asking for prayers for him for a speedy recovery. :0)

Halloween
Well Halloween is over. I am glad of this. I have never been a fan of Halloween. I hate being scared and not knowing who is under those masks. We had about 35-40 trick or treaters this year. I think last year we only had about 15. It is good to see that there was still some home made costumes. I really like those the best. The creativity shows more when they make their own. Happy Halloween all!!!

A week has gone by!
Okay where was I the past week that I was so busy to blog? Or should I say how lazy I have been the past week. Well today is Sunday the 28th and the Rockie are on the Virge of loosing the World Series. They are in Colorado tonight and they were in Colorado last night also. If they loose tonight it is all over the Boston Red sox's as I said swept them under the run. I do have to take my hat off to them they do have a really good pitching team. I have a picture that was taken in Colorado not to far from where I grew up. This farmer sent a message to the Rockies in his field. I thought it was pretty cool.
Tuesday I went scrapbooking with my bestest friend and partner in crime Dee Dee. We had a great time. She is still working on her Paris book witch is turning out really cool. I did some old pages like of my nephew and niece's graduation 2005! I am so far behind it is unreal. I will post some this week of what pages I did.
Bible Study Monday night was interesting to say the least. I have had a problem understanding what I am to be doing. Well tomorrow is Monday and I still haven't done this week lessons. I just can't get my self to do my lessons. I hope and pray I get better at this.
Well here it is that time again I usually try to make it to Halloween but I just seem to not make it. I turned on the heat Saturday Oct. 27th. It really hasn't ran much except for the night early mornings. I just hate having to turn on the heat. But one good thing it does mean that winter and snow is coming!!!
WEll Rockies it has been a great ride this year. Win this game tonight!!!!!!!!!!!

Over the Weekend!!!
Well here it is Sunday evening and all is quit, well all except the TV that has the Denver Broncos and the Steeler game on. The score right now is 7-14 Denver is ahead!!! Yeah you read that one right Denver is ahead! But it is only second quarter though. Well We had a great weekend with Stephanie being home. She brought Travis's WII home and we had a great time with it. We played bowling and guess what I had a Turkey, now just keep in mind I really stink at bowling in real life so this is really big for me!!! I even beat Eric in that game. So I was really tickled. And yes I did take pictures so here they are. Then my adopted daughter Marae (Stephanie's best friend) came over and then they played Dance Dance so I also have posted a few of those too. Marea came over Sat. afternoon after Stephanie and I came home from a craft fair, which we didn't buy a thing. It was a really waist of time for us!!! Well the the score is now 7-21 and it is half time. Go Broncos!!! Eric just got home so I am going to get him something to eat, while he enjoys the ball game!!!
Oh yeah I guess we are going to get us a WII also. We had a great family time together Friday night!!!!

Fall Break
Hey Stephanie is home for fall break. I went up to Sioux City Wednesday and picked her up and did some shopping and then we came home. I was just finishing up my Church stuff and heard this noise coming from the living room. Well Stephanie is in there playing withTravis's WII, He let her bring it home to show us and to get us to try our hands at it. She is snow boarding. So I thought I would take some pictures of her playing it and to show you what college students do on their school breaks!

Update
Sense we last saw each other I was telling you that the Rockie's won two games in the series. Well the good new is that they swept the Phillies and now this Thursday they are playing I Arizona Diamond Backs. This series it is the best out of 7 games.
Denver blew chunks all over! The light was on but now one was home as they say!!!
Then there was the Iowa Hawkeyes that did the same thing. Come on boys get your acts together. But now the Colorado Buffs won is high style which is really cool. Eric said he will just have to root for the Buffs the rest of the season. And that doesn't hurt me one bit.
Now on to Dancing With the Stars last night: Marie Osmond was aw some as normal!! Jane Seymour did great too! My heart and prayers go out to her with the loss of her mom. I am sure this was really hard for her to do. I can't wait until tonight to see who get the bump now.. I voted for the two above and also Wayne Newton and Cameron Mathison. So I am hoping they can hang on till the end but I know this years crop is so good it is really hard to choose which ones to pick that I would want to win because they are all so good.
tata for now!!!

Colorado Rockies Rule
Hooray for the Rockies that is the Colorado Rockies they are the wild card for the NL. I have been a fan ever sense they have been a ball team. I have been able to see them play at Coors Field a few times. Would like to see them more but you know how that is you live far away and don't make it there all the time. I was reading in the Greeley Trib. that "Rockies fever catching on in Denver" was the one of the head lines, and if you ask me it is a little to late to be supporting them now! I have watched the games when I can and I was just ashamed of the support that they have been getting the stands were always pretty much empty every time I would get to watch some of the games. And low and be hold Monday night they were filled to the rafters. Now if this was the Broncos they have always supported them no matter how well they have done. Why can't they do that for the Rockies. I wish the Rockies all the best Wed. night. By the way the game went into extra innings Monday night. They pulled it out in the 13th inning. Wow what a nail biter!!! They played the Padres last night. The final score was Rockie 9 and the Padres 8.
Well now that I said my peace about how Colorado fans treat the Rockies I guess I will let it go now. One last punch it is sad that they can only root for the Rockies when they are winning.
Go Rockies!!!

Marie you ROCK!!!
Okay I have to admit that I was getting a little worried that Marie was going to get the boot. EEE of little faith! I was so glad when they said that she is continuing. Well one week of Dancing with the stars is over now until we meet again.
Other news on the home front we have a baby, we have a baby!!! My cousin koolaide (Margie) and her husband Roy had a baby boy yesterday at 5:30 PM. His name is
Joseph Zane Patton.
Weight was 7lbs 15oz.
Length: 21"
Born: September 25, 2007
Congratulations Cousin Koolaide and cousin Roy.
Aunt Shirley said they called about 4:30 Pm and said they were on their way to the hospital after Roy aired up the tire on the car. It was a good thing he didn't have to change it or he would of been delivering a baby!!!! Auntie said he doesn't have red hair though. She wanted a red head in the family.
Well that is all I have to say tonight!
Oh yeah I really hate going to a fast food restaurant and come home and find out that I don't have all my sandwiches that I had ordered. The restaurant better get people that are not in outer space and know what they are doing. One really upset customer!!!!

Fried Ice Cream
In one word mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmgood!! I have had this sinful dessert many times in my life. And they all have been so good. I thought I would google and see if I can come up with a recipe for it. And to my surprise I found a web site called cooks.com and they have 36 different recipes for fried ice cream. wow, I didn't know there would be so many different ways to make it. Here is one of them that I found it was the first one so if you want more you will have to go to the site and get the rest.
FRIED MEXICAN ICE CREAM
1 pt. vanilla ice cream
1/2 c. crushed corn flakes or cookie crumbs
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. sugar
1 egg
Oil for deep frying
Honey
Whipped cream
Scoop out 4 or 5 balls of ice cream. Return to freezer. Mix crumbs, cinnamon and sugar. Roll frozen ice cream balls in half the crumb mixture and freeze again. Beat egg and dip coated balls in egg, then roll again in remaining crumbs. Freeze until ready to use (for thicker coating repeat dipping in egg and rolling in crumbs).
When ready to serve, heat oil to 350 degrees. Place a frozen ice cream ball in fryer basket or on a perforated spoon and lower into hot oil 1 minute. Immediately remove and place on dessert compote. Drizzle with honey and top with a dab of whipped cream. Continue to fry balls one at a time. Balls will be crunchy on the outside and just beginning to melt on the inside. 4-5 servings.
Now the reason for this picture I went scrap booking with my best scrapping buddie Tuesday (Dee Ann)and we ate at the Mexican restaurant and we had this for dessert. We shared it this time we learned our lesson last time we had this we both had one and boy were we hurt en. Enjoy and wipe those drools off from your mouth!!! I know, I know it is hard when something looks this good.

Yeah Yeah I know yuck most of you hate cool or even colder weather but I just thrive on it. I hate summer and I am never sad to see it leave. Winter on the other hand I hate to see it go because it means shorts (shiver at the thought)Fall is just around the corner. Yeah. It is the start of College and pro football. Going to Eric's brother's house and watching a few games with them. Having a good time even when they loose. :0( Just don't have Jeff cook when his favorite team is loosing, or you just might not get to eat. All of Eric's brothers try to get together every Sat. or Sunday to watch the games it is fun by all. Here's to fall crisp weather!!!!!! Go Iowa, Broncos, and Buffs, and Rams (Colorado Buffs and Rams)

new Job?
I had great news last night I have a job interview at Pamida Thursday at 9:00 AM. I am just so excited that they called and would like to interview me I just can't stand it. I hope and pray this is all going to work out. I guess it is all in God's time is what they always say. So I am thankful for this chance to maybe get my life in order get things taken care of, like get bills payed off and be able to take small mini vacations with family and friends. Please keep this in your prayers that I do get this job. This is some thing I feel that I really need in my life right now. I guess mainly to fill the void of not being a stay at home mom, which I still am but you know what I mean? I hope any way.

What a cutie pie!!
Here is pictures that I took of my great niece Dusty. We had a family picnic up at Preparation park just a few miles from here. I took these pictures of her with my New canon camera rebel xt. This camera is just awesome to awesome for words. Enjoy the cutie.
I really like this one it is of Dusty looking up at the trees and watching the leaves move. This is the first time she has really been outside so she was soaking it all in.

pages?
Well I have been asked to show some of the pages I scraped booked August 28th when I went to Sioux City to scrapbook with my buddie and partner in crime (Dee Dee). Now don't laugh at them I am not the best scraper in the world. I don't get creative. I am so far behind my scrap booking it is unreal so here is a stab at taking the picture of my pages. I hope you can see them okay. One is of peanut's graduation stuff, our best friends from Indiana, Peanut going off to college, and one of her and her favorite cousin Ryan. A special thanks goes out to my models who held my pictures while I took my attemt of taking pictures, Marae & Stephanie.

Bargins
I just love bargains. Stephanie is just going to freak when she see these. I bought four pair of flip flop for $.19 apiece. We are going to make really neat photo albums with them. We have been buying them for $.99 apiece but when I found these I thought I hit the jackpot. I like it when it make a caching in my pocket when I find bargains. Stephanie doesn't know I found them yet so we will see if she ever looks at my blog soon. I thought these were the coolest ones we have bought so far.

Anticipation
Have you ever had to wait for a result from a test score and a call from a doc to tell you what they have found out? Well this is how I feel today as I wait to hear from our little girl, to see how her first day was of college. I am sure it was exciting and very nervous day for her. I know she will enjoy it as she gets more into the scheme of things. Now all I have to do is play the waiting game.

wanting to be free?
Well I am not to sure I am ready to let my little girl be free yet. Yesterday
8-18-07 she left us for three other girls. Can you believe that her own parents ain't good enough. :0) Here she is packing Saturday morning for college. Working really hard at it? I think Uncle Don should see this room now. (Inside joke) Here is a picture of some of what the car looked like. She also had Travis's car full too. And one of her Today in her dorm room. I think she like it?
She says it rocks. But last night was a had night first night away from home. :0(
Wish you all the best of luck my little girl. (peanut)

Taken my own picture
Oh yuck what an adventure of trying to take my own picture of myself. I have never done this so I thought what the hey let me give it a try, Stephanie does it all the time so if she can do it I should be able to give a good stab at it. Well the picture that I posted of me is one of five that I took. I am going to scrapbook one and do it like Anna did on her blog. She has the neatest blog. And she does a great job of keeping it up to date. I hope my is as funny and as creative as hers is. I have had help from the younger generation on how to do things on this but I will get the hang of it soon? I hope any way :-) I really hope every one enjoys my site.
Taken senior pictures
It always helps to have a good subject like my niece Holly. This morning I took a trek to Onowa and took her senior pictures. I personally think they turned out great. I know one she will not put in the year book but it just reminds me of how fun loving she is. With converse sneakers in tow and a formal dress it is priceless. I have had fun doing neat things to her pictures. Some I have done things too like putting her name on them and some I made black and white. Which in my opinion is way cool. Take a peak and see for your self. Toddles

Hooked on Ice coffee
I would have never thought that I would be hooked on Ice coffee from Micky D's. I think I have had about 6 of them this week alone. And we live 30 miles from the closest Micky D's. I like the hazelnut one the best. Stephanie likes the vanilla one. Yeah she likes them too. I have even started making coffee at home so I can make my own. This is just a horrible yummy thing to be liking. As you can see by the picture I have it almost gone. This is just a sin to like this coffee as much as I do. I hope you get a chance to have this out of this world drink. It is just fantastic. So smooth and so just I have no other words to describe this scrumptious drink.
