A day to reflect

I had a day to reflect on things one the election last night. The state of our country. But the most important thing was that today is a day to honor my dad. He passed away 12 years ago today. I can remember that day like it was yesterday. The one thing I remember it was election day 12 years ago. Mom and dad went and voted and then decided to go shopping in Loveland. Well that is where we lost my dad he had a massive heart attack and died. He told my mom he had to go to the bathroom and went to the gas station across the parking lot. :0(. But my day was totally different I voted and then Eric got one of his very first harvest check and it was the biggest check I had ever seen. I had to go and get groceries so his sister Tina and I went shopping. The first words out of Eric's mouth was don't spend it all!!!!!!

Tina and I had a great day. I had gotten some Christmas shopping done and got groceries. Well all the way home I knew I was very uneasy not alone that I had just spent most of his check. I was so so scared on what he would do to me. Well on the way home we seen Jackie (mother-in-law) she was to be at my house but she was heading south on the interstate. So we stoped and tried to find out what was going on and no one new. so we came the rest of the way home and when we came around the corner Eric was already home. Boy did my heart fall I new he just knew I had spent almost his whole pay check. But he was home to tell me that my dad had passed away.

But I look back on my life and I feel that I was so blessed that I even had a chance to know my dad and to have him as long as I did. He was there for all the important things in my life like, Graduation, wedding, and the birth of his first granddaughter. Now I just know he is watching out for me and hopefully smiling!!! Love you dad and miss you!!!

This picture was taken on my wedding day. Me and my dad!

Just wondering?

I was just wondering? I had gotten this in a email and my sentiments about all the politicians is I hated both that were running for president! but I think Maxine has a couple of great ideas that I think we should try.
You just gotta love Maxine she is just too darn cool!

First time voter! :0)

My baby voted yesterday for the first time. I was so glad and proud that she voted, and that I was able to share this special day with her, even though she didn't want no pictures taken. But you know me I have to try to capture every thing I can cause some day when I am old and can't remember things I can look back and hopefully remember this day. She was our 101st voter yesterday. We had 100 voters by noon yesterday. We all have a game that we play when we start working on the election board and what we do each one of guesses how many voters we are going to have well I said 200 and they all thought I was crazy, to make a long story short not a one of us girls even got close to the amount of voters we did have.
This next picture is of discus cause I was taken her picture! I can just imagine what she was saying!! Not for little ears I bet. or just MOM must you take pictures. Some day I hope she liked that I took her picture. Here she is casting her vote. Now you can't change your mind now the shredder has casted you ballot! It was kinda funny some people asked if that machine would shred the ballots and we would say yes (just jokingly of course). And other we told them to watch there valuables cause we had it programed to take their gold and silver and at the end of the day we were going to take what we wanted and sell the rest to the government so they can pay of the national debt!!! :0)Travis was waiting for Stephanie to cast her vote and was sleeping cause she took so long! Can you see the smile on his face! :0) He really wasn't sleeping. Last but not least here are the ladies that I worked with from left to right Marlys H., Sarah B, Doris W.

And here was one of the sample ballots. We had 262 voters yesterday that came and did their civic duty. WOW we was really busy yesterday. I think that was a record. A history in the making in Pisgah and I was part of it. Just too cool!

Election Day

Here I am up at 5:00 AM Blogging? You may ask yourself why is she up so darn early for? No it isn't cause I can't sleep or just wanted to be up at the crack of dawn. No pun intend! I have to work on the election board today, and we have to be there by 6:00 am cause the polls here in Iowa open at 7:00 till 9:00 PM. Then we have to take the ballots to another town which is almost a half hour way and drop them off. So I am in for a very long day. But the bright side as of tonight we will not be getting NO more phone calls and flyer's in the mail telling us who to vote for. Hooray!!!!!! :0)

So my last words to you this fine fine morning is~~~~~~~ GO OUT AND VOTE!!!!
