Just a few days late!

Well I am just a few day late posting about what I did Sunday. Well for starters we went to church and then came home and got Stephanie packed so I could take her back to school. Yes Travis could of taken her but we went craft fairing in Sioux City. I was kinda disappointed in this years craft fair until I found this just too cute find. I had see this in Council Bluff at their craft fair in the Spring but didn't get and have kicked myself for not getting it. So I decided this fall I would get when we went to the craft fair but they didn't have it there, we walked it all so I could find it but with no avail we had no luck. :0( But when we went Sunday I had found my treasure!! Are you ready to see what I picked up?

Now you have to understand my bathroom is decorated in out houses it is just so stinking cute! Don't you think?

I'm back home!!

What a world wind trip I have had over the weekend. Friday about 10:00 or so Stephanie, mom and I left for Minnesota, so mom can catch the train to go and see my brother for a whole month! It was a nice drive we took some unplanned stops along the way and here is why we stopped for one of them. I seen this old barn out in the middle of no where and just had to have a picture of it. I plan on making it black and white and hang it in my kitchen with all of the other barns I have taken pictures of. This was taken by peanut though I can not take credit gotta give credit where it is due! The travel was nice and calm until we got into the Twin Cities at rush hour mind you and for some one not knowing where the heck she was going was pretty freaky to say the least. Well after w had to stop at a good will and ask for directions we finally made it. You know almost all the drivers we pretty considerate of me not knowing where the heck I was going let me in every time I needed to get over in another lane. Thanks to all those where nice to us!!! We got to the motel room and it was flipping freezing in there for about 4 hours. We ordered pizza which took an hour an a half for us to get. What is up with that? Any way here is a couple pics that my mom took with her new camera.

So we are starting to get a little warmer in these pictures. But still had a bite in the air. About 10:30 we left and took mom to the train station. Her train was to leave about 11:15. When we had gotten there is was already there. How cool was that. This was the first time any of us didn't have to wait for our train to arrive!!!! whoo hoo!

Now in the morning this is what we woke up to.

Then after we checked out we headed for breakfast at Micky D's. Then I stopped at the motel and finally asked for directions to the Mall of America. And the nice lady gave me the best and easiest directions, they were just awesome!!! Be for long we were there. We hung around for about four hours, Bought some Christmas stocking stuffers and a couple of other things. Had lunch at Arby's mmmm mmm good! The sandwich was any way, my drink was so sweet I could not hardly drink it, I think they needed to fix their carbonation in their machines. Here is a picture that peanut took while we left. And a couple of the Lego land that she had taken. OH yeah I took one of her in front of Bubba Gump Shimp restaurant with Forest Gumps suit. She was so excited when she seen that. :0)

Now we are on our way home and here is a couple of pictures that Stephanie took from the car while we were going down the interstate.

And the best of the best picture that was taken at a Mc Donald's I think those people there thought that we had never been in a Micky D's before. Well we have been in plenty in our time but not one like this one it was like a rock N' Roll one and it was so cool. Peanut will have more on her blog some day so you will have to check out all of the other pictures that she took while we were on our trip. Oh yeah Chill came with so Chill some day will up date hers too. So watch and see when they up date!!!

My Uncle Update

My Uncle Don is now home for good!!!!
My Aunt said with in two hours of him being home she has already seen a change in him. Hip hip Hooray!!!!

:0)

Ta~ta

Oh Yeah I forgot I will be taking my mom today to St. Paul to catch the train to go and see my brother so I need traveling blessings while I go. Peanut is going with me. I should be home Sat. evening some time if all goes well!!!

Update

This is a email I received from mom # 2 and it is a update on Lisa:

To those I haven't told yet, Lisa's thyroid cancer seems to be back, only as spots on her head. She's had several tests and more to go before they decide what to do. Friday she has an ultrasound on her neck and Saturday she has a PET scan. We think she'll have a radioactive iodine treatment, but that dr wants all these tests first before he decides, so we're still waiting. Will keep you informed.

This one is a update#2
I made a slight error on the PET scan. It was to be Sat. the 29th, but before the dr at Creighton sees her, he wants all that done, so it will be the 26th at Creighton at 8 AM. Then she should have an appointment with him. It would be nice if she could see him the same day she has her scan, but they wouldn't be that accommodating, so there'll probably be 3 trips to Omaha. She's still keeping up her schooling and work schedules, but they are both willing to be flexible. She still has an ultrasound tomorrow morning and then goes on to school.

Sad Heart

I have been so sad sense Friday evening. And I just didn't know how to post this news. And how to say what I wanted to say and say it right, and not to sound stupid. So here it goes. Friday night about 4:30 I come home from cleaning the church and running off the bulletins for our church. When I walked in mom said I had a phone call and jokingly said they must of been watching me come home. Well on the other end was my mother-in-law Jackie AKA mom #2. I knew just by the tone of her voice some thing was horribly wrong. And she preceded to tell me that my sister-in-law Lisa has bone cancer. My heart just fell. I didn't know what to say or do. I have had a weekend of tears for her. Eric seen her Sunday and she said that she had one spot on her brain and some on her spine and her hip. She is to see a specialist tomorrow so I hope and pray he has some good news for her. I now Lisa is a fighter and never backs down from a fight so I hope she keeps her fighting spirit in her. I am asking all to pray for her and her recovery. I hope this didn't sound insensitive or unfeeling. I just didn't know how to put how I am feeling into words. I am thanking everyone in advance for your prayers. I just want to say one thing. I love you Lisa!!!!

Yes I had to it was calling me get me out of this box. :0) I went to Wallie world today and bought me a white Christmas tree. I have always wanted one and Eric said he likes them too so guess what I got one. It is soooo pretty. I think we can even use it during Easter and put Easter eggs on it. That way we will get our moneys worth out of it. Don't you think so? Stephanie I even fluffed it!! hehehe in side joke. I always fluff the tree after peanut gets done with it, it is never fluffed enough for me so I always fluff it more so now we joke about it. :0)

A day to reflect

I had a day to reflect on things one the election last night. The state of our country. But the most important thing was that today is a day to honor my dad. He passed away 12 years ago today. I can remember that day like it was yesterday. The one thing I remember it was election day 12 years ago. Mom and dad went and voted and then decided to go shopping in Loveland. Well that is where we lost my dad he had a massive heart attack and died. He told my mom he had to go to the bathroom and went to the gas station across the parking lot. :0(. But my day was totally different I voted and then Eric got one of his very first harvest check and it was the biggest check I had ever seen. I had to go and get groceries so his sister Tina and I went shopping. The first words out of Eric's mouth was don't spend it all!!!!!!

Tina and I had a great day. I had gotten some Christmas shopping done and got groceries. Well all the way home I knew I was very uneasy not alone that I had just spent most of his check. I was so so scared on what he would do to me. Well on the way home we seen Jackie (mother-in-law) she was to be at my house but she was heading south on the interstate. So we stoped and tried to find out what was going on and no one new. so we came the rest of the way home and when we came around the corner Eric was already home. Boy did my heart fall I new he just knew I had spent almost his whole pay check. But he was home to tell me that my dad had passed away.

But I look back on my life and I feel that I was so blessed that I even had a chance to know my dad and to have him as long as I did. He was there for all the important things in my life like, Graduation, wedding, and the birth of his first granddaughter. Now I just know he is watching out for me and hopefully smiling!!! Love you dad and miss you!!!

This picture was taken on my wedding day. Me and my dad!

Just wondering?

I was just wondering? I had gotten this in a email and my sentiments about all the politicians is I hated both that were running for president! but I think Maxine has a couple of great ideas that I think we should try.
You just gotta love Maxine she is just too darn cool!

First time voter! :0)

My baby voted yesterday for the first time. I was so glad and proud that she voted, and that I was able to share this special day with her, even though she didn't want no pictures taken. But you know me I have to try to capture every thing I can cause some day when I am old and can't remember things I can look back and hopefully remember this day. She was our 101st voter yesterday. We had 100 voters by noon yesterday. We all have a game that we play when we start working on the election board and what we do each one of guesses how many voters we are going to have well I said 200 and they all thought I was crazy, to make a long story short not a one of us girls even got close to the amount of voters we did have.
This next picture is of discus cause I was taken her picture! I can just imagine what she was saying!! Not for little ears I bet. or just MOM must you take pictures. Some day I hope she liked that I took her picture. Here she is casting her vote. Now you can't change your mind now the shredder has casted you ballot! It was kinda funny some people asked if that machine would shred the ballots and we would say yes (just jokingly of course). And other we told them to watch there valuables cause we had it programed to take their gold and silver and at the end of the day we were going to take what we wanted and sell the rest to the government so they can pay of the national debt!!! :0)Travis was waiting for Stephanie to cast her vote and was sleeping cause she took so long! Can you see the smile on his face! :0) He really wasn't sleeping. Last but not least here are the ladies that I worked with from left to right Marlys H., Sarah B, Doris W.

And here was one of the sample ballots. We had 262 voters yesterday that came and did their civic duty. WOW we was really busy yesterday. I think that was a record. A history in the making in Pisgah and I was part of it. Just too cool!

Election Day

Here I am up at 5:00 AM Blogging? You may ask yourself why is she up so darn early for? No it isn't cause I can't sleep or just wanted to be up at the crack of dawn. No pun intend! I have to work on the election board today, and we have to be there by 6:00 am cause the polls here in Iowa open at 7:00 till 9:00 PM. Then we have to take the ballots to another town which is almost a half hour way and drop them off. So I am in for a very long day. But the bright side as of tonight we will not be getting NO more phone calls and flyer's in the mail telling us who to vote for. Hooray!!!!!! :0)

So my last words to you this fine fine morning is~~~~~~~ GO OUT AND VOTE!!!!
